This donation helps sponsor the expenses of our professional Bluegrass musicians attending Rootpile at Burning Man.
In order to provide high-quality, professional-level Bluegrass music at Rootpile, it is necessary for us to arrange for some pro musicians who are volunteering their time, but are missing out on paying gigs and who are responsible for their own travel expenses and Burning Man tickets to come to the Playa. In order to offset these losses and expenses, we try to arrange for scholarships to help bring these virtuoso singers and players to the Playa.
A typical pro musician is losing $500-$1500 of income and incurring an additional $500-$1500 of expenses to come and help us achieve our mission.
